Navy raises alarm over fake recruitment syndicate

ABUJA—The Nigerian Navy has raised alarm over fake recruitment syndicates claiming that they were authorised to recruit personnel for the Navy.
The Navy, meanwhile, has cautioned members of the public to be wary of these fake syndicates which specialise in extorting money from intending recruits who had applied to join the Nigerian Navy.
Director of Navy Information, Commodore Kabir Aliyu, who expressed worries over the nature of the scam, weekend, urged the public to desist from patronising any syndicate as the Navy does its recruitment on its  own.
He regretted that some fraudulent Nigerians had taken undue advantage of the unemployment situation in the country to defraud innocent applicants.

Lady found dead without eyes, tongue in Jos

Jos – Ritual  killers on Monday struck in Jos, killing and removing the eyes and tongue of a young lady in Twanchit Village at Tudun Wada in the Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau. The police in Jos confirmed the incident but said they had no details yet. Residents who woke up to the ugly sight, said that the crime took place around 1:00 a.m. and that the victim could not be identified. They said, however, that the area had a lot of drinking spots that operated late into the night and that the assailants could have hidden under that to carryout the crime. The corpse had no visible mark or injury an indication that the assailants had strangled her before plucking out her eyes and tongue. Former Super Eagles coach and technical director, Amodu Shaibu died on Saturday morning in Benin City, just three days after another ex-national team coach Stephen Keshi died in the same town. From observations at his surulere resident this morning, every body they are in morning mood. This news was confirmed by one of his neighbours who choose to remain anonymous.
