Obama to meet four African leaders

WASHINGTON  (AFP) – US President Barack Obama will welcome four African leaders to Washington this month, the White House said Monday.
Obama on March 28 will meet with the president of Senegal, Macky Sall; of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma; of Malawi, Joyce Banda; and the prime minister of Cape Verde, Jose Maria Pereira Neves.
Spokesman Jay Carney said the leaders will discuss issues that include economic development and reinforcing democracy in sub-Saharan Africa.
The multi-party meeting is not unprecedented: in late July 2011 Obama met with the presidents of Benin, Guinea, Nigeria and Ivory Coast.
Obama, the son of a Kenyan-born father and a US-born mother, has visited sub-Saharan Africa only once as president — he made a short trip to Ghana in July 2009.

Lady found dead without eyes, tongue in Jos

Jos – Ritual  killers on Monday struck in Jos, killing and removing the eyes and tongue of a young lady in Twanchit Village at Tudun Wada in the Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau. The police in Jos confirmed the incident but said they had no details yet. Residents who woke up to the ugly sight, said that the crime took place around 1:00 a.m. and that the victim could not be identified. They said, however, that the area had a lot of drinking spots that operated late into the night and that the assailants could have hidden under that to carryout the crime. The corpse had no visible mark or injury an indication that the assailants had strangled her before plucking out her eyes and tongue. Former Super Eagles coach and technical director, Amodu Shaibu died on Saturday morning in Benin City, just three days after another ex-national team coach Stephen Keshi died in the same town.
